Welcome to Chicago!

ASCD Executive Director Dr. Gene R. Carter welcomes conference attendees, exhibitors, and presenters to the 68th Annual Conference and Exhibit Show

Welcome to ASCD's 2013 Annual Conference and Exhibit Show. I am glad you could join us in Chicago for education's premier profession development event.

This year's Annual Conference features more than 400 powerful sessions on topics such as implementing Common Core State Standards, education technology, and leadership. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to hear practical, actionable insights from the top innovators and thinkers in education. I encourage you to be active participants in these sessions. Ask questions, challenge perspectives, and look for ways you can quickly incorporate what you learn into your own efforts to support the success of each learner.

Just as importantly, I hope you will use the Annual Conference and Exhibit Show as an opportunity to recharge your passion for education. Connect with new peers. Trade stories not just of your challenges, but also of your successes. Resolve to stay in touch after the conference to support one another.

Once again, I thank you for joining ASCD for the 2013 Annual Conference and Exhibit Show. Have a great conference, and enjoy your stay in Chicago!
